Almost 4th of July

It is almost 4th of July! I am thankful to live in the United States of America. I am thankful for religious freedom, particularly. I am also happy to have found a place to live where I still have basic freedoms within the U.S. For instance,  am grateful that I can run my shower as long as I want, or have an ugly fence or a dead car parked out back. I am thankful I can have livestock and burn fires.

I see us as a nation, losing many freedoms that were just assumed when I was a child. Also, in some areas, especially in towns and suburbs, many of the freedoms as I have described are being taken away by local government and homeowner's associations. I understand the reasoning, but I am very happy to live somewhere that a homeowner's association doesn't tell me what to do. I am reasonably sure my children are an anomaly. A family in the post modern U.S. who can run, play, dig, run, yell and blow things up if they want, with minimal interference from anyone other than their parents. We are pretty free at my house.

I hope you are celebrating something this time of year, even if it is just playing outdoors. Enjoy your family and your freedoms.

I, thank goodness, live near a subdivision with no conevents, and I don't live on a subdision at all so can and do blow things up every 4th of July. We celebrate all the rights that we still have and thank the Lord for still having so many that other nations don't have, even if there are fewer than the fore fathers intended us to have.

Your kids are growing up like I did. What a blessing for them. Even though we have only 1.13 acres, fenced, I am grateful my grandchildren can run and play in safety. Still, it is a long shot from my childhood where I could run for miles, play in a lake and a stream, and my parents never worried.

Hi Again, Our 4th of July was extra special this year. Sunday
morning our choir sang a Cantata
called America, God shed his grace
on thee. (yours truly sang alto) and then Sunday night the men sang
their part of the Cantata again. What a blessing! I took a picture
of them. In the morning the Cantata was four songs and included narration and a finale.
Then Monday was the church picnic
at the Warm Beach Association Park. Jim did the barbecuing on the new fancy church grill. Jessica played in the baseball game. I tried my hand at the ladder ball game. The weather was
perfect. I will be putting up
pictures soon of the men singing
and one of Debbie Stiff and her
granddaughters. Also I took pictures of my rose bushed in the
front yard.
