Crying Uncle

I can remember being small and in a battle of strength, endurance or wills with another child. The contest would continue or intensify until one of us (usually me) would cry UNCLE! Uncle was the magic word to cause the stress or pain to end. Sometimes living in this world makes me want to cry UNCLE to God. Sometimes I just want Him to turn off the flame or stop chipping away the corners on my stoney heart.

In this life, there is no "uncle". When life gets difficult there are no magic words that make the difficulties go away! While we don't have a big uncle to pound our adversaries if they don't let us go (I think that might have been the origin of crying uncle), we do have a Father in heaven if we have received Christ as our personal savior who can defend, deliver or comfort us. We are told  to cry Abba. I understand that Abba means Daddy or Papa.

I don't know how life is treating you, but I am Crying Abba today.

Romans 8:15 (KJV) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

I hope your day brings you into your heavenly "Abba's" lap.

Lawana

The song in my mind last night?
Lord You're beautiful

Your face is all I seek

For when your eyes are on this child

Your grace abounds to me

(repeat)

I want to take your word/

And shine it all around

First help me just to live it Lord

And when I'm doing well/

Help me to never seek a crown

For my reward is giving glory to you

Lord please light the fire

That once burned bright and clear

Replace the lamp of my first love

That burns with holy fear

I want to take your word/

And shine it all around

First help me just to live it Lord

And when I'm doing well/

Help me to never seek a crown

For my reward is giving glory to you

Lord you're beautiful

Your face is all I seek

For when your eyes are on this child

Your grace abounds to me

I can see your face now

I can feel your grace now

(repeat)

It's all I seek

It's all I seek

Lawana, I tried to email you the links for the book reviews but the email address I have for you bounced. Is there another or should I leave them here?
