Macaroni and Cheese for Breakfast

Yesterday was my youngest son's birthday. He was able to invite whomever he wanted to come to the party. He invited some families that are special to him and the festivities began. There was one family who couldn't make it but I told him we could get together with them another time.

This was a 10 year old birthday and we were all excited about helping this sweet young man welcome in the double digits. He asked for hot dogs, macaroni and cheese and and chocolate cake with white icing. One friend brought stuff to make homemade ice cream. The party seemed to be going well. I decided to open a couple of cans of beans to supplement the 2 item menu. It was at that time that I realized I had not made the mac and cheese! He only wanted the box kind! Oh the mommy guilt. How could I forget half of the menu!

I am blessed with kind, understanding children. When I confessed my error to my son, he just put his arm around my shoulders and said, "Its okay". I told him we would have mac and cheese for breakfast and we did. In this time when I am stretched so thin and difficulties outweigh live braincells 10 to one, I am thankful that I have a family that is forgiving.

We are going into fair week so pray that I don't forget something more important (though I can't think what would be much more important that 50% of the birthday menu.)

God bless you!

My favorite thing he said all night was after he blew out the candle and you asked him what he wish for
"I WISH TO EAT THE CAKE!"
So cute!
